    A small bait-fetch tests whether ads are being blocked. Standard technique used since 2018 — runs in <5ms, no network calls.

    Compliant inventory served

    If a blocker is detected, the ad slot serves a static, IAB Better Ads compliant unit — non-animated, properly sized, viewability-friendly. Most blockers whitelist this format.

    No user-facing changes

    Reader sees an ad they didn't expect because their blocker was off duty for that format. No 'please disable your ad blocker' wall. No nag.

    Reporting tagged

    The recovered impression is tracked separately so you can see the lift. Same payout flow, same Net-30.
